Los Alamos ScienceFest 2024: Creative Energy
Los Alamos ScienceFest, now in its 17th year, celebrates the history and science of Los Alamos through fun and engaging activities and events for people of all ages. Each year, thousands typically participate in Los Alamos ScienceFest week and Discovery Day. Returning this July 12-16th for its 17th year, Los Alamos ScienceFest will feature a dynamic line-up of activities for all ages, celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) topics under the theme, "Creative Energy." Join us for Discovery Day on Saturday, July 13 from 9 am-2 pm at Ashley Pond Park in downtown Los Alamos.

The premier event, Discovery Day brings family fun to downtown Los Alamos, where attendees can visit tents with non-stop interactive science demonstrations, a children's activity area, music, food, beverages, and live musical performances.
This year, several premier institutions including the University of New Mexico, New Mexico Tech, The Bradbury Museum and the New Mexico Consortium will have interactive, hands-on exhibits during Discovery Day.
Inspired by the concept of Asian night market, this brand new event features vendors selling small items, merchandise, baked goods, handmade items and jewelry. Check it out for affordable and family friendly items for sale!
The Friday night concert at Ashley pond is organized by Sancre Production for Los Alamos County, sponsored by ScienceFest. The concert will feature artist "Led ZepAgain". Food trucks and a beer garden will be present.
Similar to Discovery Day, Discovery After Dark focuses on interactive activities for adults! Bring on the risky and the NSFW science. (You cannot mess with these mini particle accelerators at work unless you're a physicist!)
MainStreet collaborates with local institutions like SALA Event Center, Los Alamos Teen Center, Samizdat Bookstore and others to bring you playful STEAM activities for adults to unwind, learn and play! This is the 2nd annual "STEAM for Adults" event. Last year, This event was piloted under the name "Play Crawl".
